The 29th Annual Osceola County Wagon Train and Trail Ride is scheduled to take place on January 9 – 16, 2017. We will camp at the Lake X Ranch, located at 7555 Old Melbourne Highway, St. Cloud, Fl 34771. This year we will be working in conjunction with the Kirchman Foundation at Lake X and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. Together we will be hosting our week long trail ride event in conjunction with the Lt. Roger Haddock Memorial Trail Ride on Saturday, January 14th, 2017.
The Lt. Roger Haddock Memorial Trail Ride is an annual event conducted by the Osceola County Sheriff’s office to raise funds for the 8-week summer Sheriff’s Adventure Camp program for at risk youth.
The Osceola County Wagon Train & Trail Ride is a not-for-profit organization, composed completely of volunteer members. Our mission is to promote and preserve the ranching heritage of Osceola County, Florida through horsemanship, education, fellowship and reverence for the land. One of our objectives is to raise money for charitable organizations and to fund our scholarship program. We are still working out all the details and we will post the info as it becomes available.
In May of 1987, Osceola County celebrated its Centennial. One of the events held to commemorate our 100th birthday was a trail ride. It proved to be such an enjoyable affair, that a number of local citizens were determined to continue the event, and thus was born the Osceola County Wagon Train & Trail Ride. Every year since, the club has put on an annual week long tail ride. The participants’ camp out all week on local ranches and go out on organized trail rides during the day and at night there is usually some kind of entertainment provided. There is a caterer available to provide food, but some people enjoy preparing their own meals in camp.
